I love the book by the same title above. It is by Susan Jeffers, Ph.D. and was published in 1987.
Somehow my copy is all yellowed. I know it is not a new book, but was 1987 that long ago? Ok, don’t answer that!! When I was early in my career, I recommended the book. A lot. I still do actually. I remember reading it back when I was early in my career. It was so tremendously helpful for me. Those are the best books to recommend, don’t you think? The ones you have read, possibly more than once and you know without a doubt they are excellent. So, Go ahead. Open up another window and pull it up on amazon. I’ll wait. Not going anywhere!
So, perhaps it is time for me to drag my copy out and read it again. I am feeling that fear…. but I am jumping in and doing it anyway. Sarah Blake Psychotherapy, LLC is expanding. I am bringing on 2 new therapists and hopefully, 2 more disciplines, as well. (I will tip my hat on that, when I am closer to it being a done deal!) Construction will be starting soon, to expand my one person office into a multi-person office. There are a ton of things to do, but there is excitement in the air. No more waiting lists or turning patients away. More variety in the patients we can serve, and we will be able to provide some groups (more on that later, as well). Who knows what else we will come up with! 🙂
